The beating heart , made up of muscle , it pumps blood throughout our bodies , so simple yet so complex , and so dependent o­n the valves that control blood flow . But sometimes the heart valves malfunction and blood begins to leak backwards causing what’s known as MVP . If left untreated , the complications of a leaky mitral valve can cause heart failure and even death .
